Every year, between January and February, hundreds of thousands of wildebeest gather on the short-grass plains of Ndutu and the southern Serengeti to give birth.
For photographers, this period offers unique opportunities. Newborn calves appear everywhere across the plains, while lions, cheetahs, hyenas and jackals follow the herds. A Dedicated Photographic Safari Vehicle
One of the aspects I am particularly excited about for this photographic safari Tanzania is the use of a specially modified photographic safari vehicle during our time in Tarangire and Ndutu.
This is not a standard safari vehicle.
The extended Land Cruiser has been designed specifically for photographers, with large side openings that allow comfortable shooting at eye level and excellent support for long telephoto lenses.
For wildlife photography, vehicle design matters. Being able to photograph from a low angle, move quickly from one side to the other and work without obstruction often makes the difference between a good image and an exceptional one.
Combined with a maximum of four participants, every photographer will enjoy a dedicated window position and the flexibility required to make the most of wildlife encounters.

The Safari Route
This photographic safari Tanzania begins in Tarangire National Park, famous for its giant elephant herds, ancient baobab trees and excellent birdlife.
From there we continue to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa's most spectacular wildlife destinations, before reaching Ndutu, where we will spend three nights in the heart of the calving season.
The safari concludes in Central Serengeti, providing further opportunities to photograph predators, plains game and the vast landscapes that have made the Serengeti legendary among wildlife photographers.
Together, Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Ndutu and Serengeti create one of the most complete photographic safari Tanzania itineraries available during the calving season.
