Serengeti National Park
When you mention Serengeti you immediately think : great migration.
With a surface of over 30'000 km2 it hosts the second largest mammal migration in the world that crosses the border to Kenya into the Masai Mara National park crossing the Mara River.
Over five hundred bird species and seventy large mammals can be found here.
The migration includes over 270'000 zebras and 1.7 million wildebeest, followed by large numbers of gazzelles and hundred of thousands of other game.
Predators (lions, chetah and leopards) and crocodiles (crossing the Mara river) are the main death causes in the large herds. Not to mention that in certain years hunger and exhaustion are adding numbers to the toll.
It is a must see park and event in a lifetime.
